India’s consumption of aluminium has grown at a CAGR of 15%, in the last 5
years.
This figure is the double of world average, which stands at 8.1%..
However, when we look at the per capita consumption of aluminium in India,
it is just 1.3 kgs.
This is way below the worldwide average of 7.4 kgs. It clearly indicates that
there is a huge potential, for further growth.
Light weighing of automobiles using aluminium, is being taken up on a priority
basis, in India.
