The project was formed as a visual aide to use at one of our many Family Nights, which is a resource that provides parents of our deaf and hard of hearing students the opportunity to meet other parents, interact with the teachers, and learn about various issues including Audiology, Behavior Management, and a Parent Panel (an opportunity to meet deaf adults and parents of older deaf children). This particular presentation was developed for Visual Phonics Family Night to familiarize parents/relatives of the handshapes, symbols, and sounds the students use so parents can understand the program and its benefits.
