STATUS ON ESTABLISHMENT OF PROVINCIAL
SCHOOL CODE STRUCTURES
•
All 15 code committees as identified by SRSA have been established, viz
athletics, basketball, baseball, chess, cricket, football, gymnastics, hockey,
netball, rugby, softball, table tennis, tennis, volleyball & swimming.
•
These committees were established in the period Apr 2010 to Mar 2011.
•
Provincial code committees are associate members to PFs.

•
Committees were established by the Dept. of Education from school
level, town level, zonal/municipal level, district level, up to provincial
level.
•
At each district level, multi-coded committees were also elected.
•
Chairpersons of each district multi-coded committee constitute the
FSSSO.

•
FSSSO is the recognized provincial controlling body of school sport.
•
Associate member of FS Sport Confederation.
•
Officially launched by the MEC for SACR, Dan Kgothule on 28 April
2010.

•
Min. of S&R, Rev. MA Stofile, Chair of the Portfolio Committee on S&R,
MEC of Education & FS Chair of Portfolio Committee on ESACR graced
the occasion.
•
2 reps each of the Dept. SACR & Dept. Education serve in the structure
as ex-officio members.

PROVINCIAL MPP CLUSTERS

The identified 146 schools are grouped in 15 clusters, i.e. 3 clusters
per 5 political districts of the province.
•
Contracts of sport assistants have not been renewed and other are
ending now on 31 Mar 2011 and will not be renewed.
•
SSMPP will be implemented by educators
•
