Bringing a pass from the teacher or staff member you were with means the tardy will be excused. If you are going to be late, ASK for a pass! If you have a pass, leave it on my desk please. See your teacher after school to get the exact details of what you missed. Students have 1 week from date of absence to make up all work missed during their absence. As per Board Policy 5200, students who cut 4 classes in a yearly course will not receive credit for the class, even if they are earning a passing grade. Students who miss class due to cuts are not permitted to make up work. Homework supports the BCHS initiatives in Math & Language Arts Literacy to meet Board of Education goals for student growth. Burlington City High School Family & Consumer Sciences Our Daily Routine • You’re not permitted to wander around or exit the culinary lab. • At the end of class, push your chair in, check for your belongings and make sure your area is clean & neat. • Assignments are to be put in the correct class envelope. • Heading for all assignments: – Name & Date – Class & period Burlington City High School Family & Consumer Sciences Restroom Use • Please attend to personal needs before coming to class. • Lavatory use in not permitted during the first or last 10 minutes of class. • If you want to use the restroom, bring your agenda book or a pass to me filled out and wait for me to sign it. Permission to leave the room is considered a privilege. Anyone who abuses the privilege (gone more that 5 minutes, being disruptive in the hallways, etc.) will not be permitted to leave the classroom. Of course, see me if you have an emergency. Burlington City High School Family & Consumer Sciences Classroom Environment • Our room is a reflection of both the teacher & students. • Keep your belongings put away safely & in neat order. • The floor is to be picked up, equipment is to be put away and the kitchen is to be left clean. • Towel Snapping is not permitted. This is a safety issue. – “Automatic F” for lab grade & will be a discipline referral. • Please use polite speech and table manners. • NO Food leaves the culinary lab. – Pick up leftovers after school. Burlington City High School Family & Consumer Sciences When the Fire Alarm sounds…. • Turn off all cook top burners & close windows. • Gather your belongings and leave the classroom quietly. • Turn right after you leave the culinary lab and exit by the auditorium door. • Please meet me out in front of the high school. This is required for grade. Burlington City High School Family & Consumer Sciences Code Blue…………... • Turn right out the classroom door and head to the main office. • Take the main office hallway to the “C-Wing” hallway • Then on past ROTC, the old Auto & Wood Shops to the Big Gym. • We will sit together as a class until we return to our room.
