(WWA) Wesley Evening Food Pantry Women's Resource Center ssw-cll@illinois.edu SOCW 330: Greece Study Abroad • Students completed service learning hours at agencies in the U.S. and also in Greece to compare their experiences. • The CLL partnered this course with Carle Hospital, Center for Women in Transition, DCFS, The Prairie Center, and Restoration Urban Ministries. ssw-cll@illinois.edu BADM 313: Human Resource Management • This course within the College of Business was looking to assist local agencies in examining and then making a formal recommendation on their dealings in at least one of the following Human Resources related categories: Recruiting & Selecting Employees Training & Development Performance Management Pay & Benefits Retaining Employees Handling Employee Separations • The CLL matched this course with the following agencies; Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, Multi-Cultural Community Center, Community Choices, and Restoration Urban Ministries ssw-cll@illinois.edu SOCW 542: Program Evaluation • Students developed a program evaluation on actual agencies and handed them a finished product at the completion of the semester. • The CLL partnered this course with Restoration Urban Ministries, Parent Wonders, Healthy Aging – Presence, Carle Foundation Hospital, and Franklin Middle School. ssw-cll@illinois.edu SOCW 526: Management of Human Service Organizations • Students chose a specific agency and developed a comprehensive agency manual which was turned in to each agency at the completion of the semester. • The CLL partnered this course with Center for Women in Transition, Crisis Nursery, First Presbyterian Church, Hillel – Cohen Center for Jewish Life, and Regional Office of Education. ssw-cll@illinois.edu • SOCW 461- Students assisted in locating and applying for a grant for this organization and they were awarded a $1000 grant! • Stat-Com (Statistics in the Community) – This student group within the Statistics Department assisted this agency in statistical analysis and interpretation from data that had been gathered during an Alternative Spring Break trip. ssw-cll@illinois.edu • SOCW 461 - Students worked to research and create a project that serves to identify activities recommended for patients with dementia. The students were to present their findings to the Harbor Light Hospice staff. Projects will become part of the hospice library of resources for future volunteers to use in their service. • SOCW 410 – Students researched major political issues relevant to this organization and conducted policy analyses on the topic. Agency representatives were invited to their final presentations. ssw-cll@illinois.edu Student Opportunities - The CLL provided 416 student opportunities in the Fall 2014 semester compared to 159 in Spring 2014 semester. This is a growth of 161% in one semester. Courses- The CLL has worked with 41 different classes at UIUC to create over 775 total student opportunities in the local community in the past 3 semesters. Community PartnersThe CLL initially had 40 community partners in its beginning semester, 2 semesters later it now has 120.
