The sewage pumping and treatment infrastructure should be built in a modular fashion such that the capacity is at most 125% of the actual sewage availability. All new sewage treatment plants sanctioned by the NGRBA should require treatment up to tertiary level (as specified in GRBMP_IIT_EQP_SNR 02_Ver 1 Dec 10) and should be funded by the DBO model as specified in this report. All necessary clearances, permissions, etc. required by NGRBA for funding of sewage treatment plants using the DBO model should be obtained. The process of empanelment of reputed service providers interested in participating in construction, operation and maintenance of sewage treatment plants through the DBO route should be started.
