Dravya Guna (Ayurvedic Pharmaco-therapeutics) is the most important pillar of Ayurveda. It
is the study of plants with regards to its description, habitat , therapeutic actions, etc
A unique opportunity to learn about the Ayurvedic plants in the form of an educational Dravya
Guna tour is being offered in a picturesque and serene location of around 25 acres land rich of
Ayurvedic plants along with a area of palm trees. Here one can have the opportunity to learn to
identity the common and the important plants of Ayurveda , on the actual field , along with the
training about the basic principles of Ayurveda and Dravya Guna , medicinal benefits of the
plants from Ayurvedic as well as from the Western science point of view . Introduction of some
important herbal formulations of Ayurveda and preparation of few effective yet uncomplicated
herbal recipes would be an icing on the cake.
The course would be conducted at the beautiful place of Maitreyi, which is an eco-friendly,
spiritual and cultural retreat and is around 64 Kms from Coimbatore domestic airport. It is well

Maitreyi
Course conducted by:
Dr. Shubhangee Satam, M.D (Ayurveda), specialized in Dravya
Guna from Mumbai India. She has around 15 years of Ayurvedic
industry experience in addition to her clinical experience for around
21 years. She has worked for the leading Ayurvedic companies in
India for the International market, and also in the field of
Nutraceuticals in a UK Based Pharmaceuticals.
Currently working as an Independent Consultant to the Herbal /
Ayurvedic / Nutraceutical Industry, she travels extensively to
Europe and USA to conduct lectures / workshops and for
consultations. She regularly writes on general and technical topics
related to Ayurveda and health in various leading national and International magazines.

02/02/14: Arrival to Maitreyi. Rest & Orientation of the program
03/02/14 to 08/02/14: Study tour / training about the plants:

9/02/14: Rest Day / A walking trail to the beautiful surroundings of Maitreyi
10/02/14 to 15/02 /14: Continuation of the course

Cost of the program: 1750 Euros per person
The Price includes transport to and fro Coimbatore domestic airport, accommodation, food
and training fees from 02/02/14 to 15 /02/14
Accommodation: Double occupancy rooms ( Implies 2 participants would stay in one
spacious room)
Food: Simple and delicious vegetarian meals. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks with Tea /
Coffee would be served. As in any traditional place in India, alcohol, smoking, nonvegetarian food is not encouraged during this course.
Complementary :
The price includes
a complementary offer for various Ayurvedic
treatments such as Abhyangam ( Whole body Massage ) , Pinda Sweda ( Stamp Massage) ,
Shirodhara ( Oil dripping on the forehead) , etc during the 2 weeks of stay at Maitreyi . The
appropriate therapies for an individual would be decided by In house Ayurvedic doctor after
a thorough consultation. The therapies could be taken for one hour in the morning during 7 to
8 am and/ or could be taken in the evening after the training course from 6 to 7 pm.

Travel to the Venue: The best option is to arrive at Coimbatore Domestic airport. From Europe
several airlines operate to Kochi International airport, from where a domestic flight connection to
Coimbatore could be taken.
From Coimbatore Domestic airport to Maitreyi: It takes around 2 hours by road ways.
Form Kochi International Airport to Maitreyi: It takes around 4 hours by road ways.
Travel by road from Kochi International Airport to Maitreyi could be organized for a group of
participants arriving at more or less the same time at Kochi airport.
