WHAT THIS MEANS FOR NURSES NOW Developing the skills of others • • • • • • • • Delegate and train care givers to provide complicated interventions. Have the skills competencies to meet complex needs. Provide a service in different settings with differing levels of skill mix. Have the skills and competencies to develop person centered individual policy, procedures and protocols Develop the skills regarding complex needs interventions if they don’t currently exist. Understand delegation and accountability Understand capacity legislation, consent and best interests Understand the roles of others WHAT THIS MEANS FOR NURSES IN THE FUTURE • • • • • • • Developing confidence and competence in teaching others. Develop relationships with integrated care teams. Understand integrated care pathways Mature the skills around contingency planning for individual clients. Develop and understand the roles of stakeholders.
