Laying the Foundations CSHRS was founded in 2003 at Indiana State University by Dr. Thomas Johnson and Dr. Jean Kristeller with the support of the Metanexus Institute. 2006 – Identified as a Center of Regional Distinction by ISU Mission The Center for the Study of Health, Religion, and Spirituality (CSHRS) established as a collaborative partnership of academics, researchers, and practitioners to promote dialogue, scholarship, and service regarding the interrelationships between the domains of health, religion, and spirituality.
