sammanträde för Högre seminariet i hållbar utveckling vid Uppsala
universitet och SLU.

Hållbar utveckling är en central fråga för Uppsalas båda universitet.
Där bedrivs grundforskning och tillämpad forskning inom bl.a.
utbildning, landskapsarkitektur, kulturgeografi, historia, etik, stadsoch landsbygdsutveckling, språk och litteratur, ekonomi, medicin och
teknik- och naturvetenskap som direkt eller indirekt rör en hållbar
samhällsutveckling.
Högre seminariet i hållbar utveckling är ett initiativ av forskare från
fakulteten för utbildningsvetenskaper och teknisk-naturvetenskapliga
fakulteten vid Uppsala universitet. Seminariet syftar till att i samarbete
med existerande initiativ samordna en akademisk miljö för forskare
och doktorander som bedriver såväl monodisciplinär som olika typer
av ämnesövergripande forskning i hållbar utveckling.
Högre seminariet i hållbar utveckling syftar också till att stärka
internationaliseringen av forskning i hållbar utveckling, generera nya
kontaktytor, forskningsprojekt och internationella publikationer samt
att i samarbete med befintliga aktörer i fältet organisera nationella och
internationella konferenser och workshops i transdisciplinär forskning
i hållbar utveckling.
Seminariet är fakultets- och universitetsövergripande och både
svenska och engelska tillämpas.

Sustainable development research is a key issue for Uppsala’s two
universities. Basic and applied research on e.g. education, landscape
architecture, cultural geography, history, ethics, language and
literature, economy, urban and rural development, medicine and
science and technology related to sustainable development is currently
being conducted throughout various disciplinary domains in Uppsala.
The Uppsala Transdisciplinary Seminar in Sustainable Development
is a new initiative from scholars from the Faculty of Education and the
Faculty of Science and Technology at Uppsala University to
coordinate a scholarly environment for researchers and PhD students
who conducts monodisciplinary and various forms of
crossdisciplinary sustainable development research.
The purpose of the Uppsala Transdisciplinary Seminar in Sustainable
Development is to increase internationalisation of sustainable
development research, generate new interfaces, research projects and
international publications in collaboration with existing actors in the
field. In addition, the seminar aims to coordinate and organise national
and international conferences and workshops. The seminar invites
researchers and PhD-students from all faculties. Both English and
Swedish are used.
Docent David O. Kronlid at the Department of Education and Dr. Eva
Friman at CEMUS - Uppsala Centre for Sustainable Development will
initially lead the Uppsala Transdisciplinary Seminar in Sustainable
Development.
