Arlanda airport
Most international flights use Arlanda Airport, 40 km north of Stockholm. To get to Stockholm
Central station you can take Flygbussarna (airport buses) or Arlanda express (train).
Flygbussarna (airport buses)
The buses takes 45 min to the Central station and the fee is 100 SEK single. The bus stops at
the airport terminals 5, 4 and 2 (you reach Terminal 3 via Terminal 2). At all terminals you board
at bus stop 11, which can be found just outside the entrance to the airport.
If you should stay at one of the pre-booked hotels the bus stops and arrives 100 meters from
the hotel at the station called: Norra Stationsgatan. The journey takes about 35 minutes. Some
of the buses arrive directly to the Stockholm Central station and then you have to take for
example the subway to get to the hotel.
There are several options available for buying Flygbussarna tickets. The most convenient ways
are to buy your ticket directly on the internet, using the app, or via SMS. You can also buy
tickets at Cityterminalen, the airport or on board with a charge card. For further information
see http://www.flygbussarna.se/en/arlanda.
Arlanda express
Arlanda express train takes 20 min and stops and arrives at the Stockholm central station. The
fee is 260 SEK single for an adult. There are different prices depending on which day and the
way you buy your ticket. It costs 100 SEK more if you buy your ticket on the train. For further
information see https://www.arlandaexpress.com
Taxi
In case you take a taxi, make sure to ask for the price prior to the ride. A reasonable price
should be 500 SEK. In the first place we recommend the following taxi companies: Taxi
Stockholm, Taxi Kurir and Taxi 020. In Sweden private taxi drivers can take different prices
and your journey can be very expensive that’s why we recommend certain taxi companies.
Public transport
If you will use SL public transport frequently during your stay, it is probably most
convenient to have the reloadable SL Access card and purchase a ticket of your
choice at the ticket machines or at a ticket agent to load on the card.
SL Centers are located in the ticket halls of the T-Centralen station at Sergels Torg,
at the Central Station in the lower hall. Also at the Metro stations Slussen,
Gullmarsplan, Fridhemsplan, Tekniska Högskolan, and in Täby Centrum.
Other ticket agents, mostly news agents such as Pressbyrån,
have the SL logo clearly visibly displayed.
