Giveback - Requirement
 For L1 Certification it is required that you provide
details of your involvement in 2 areas of Giveback.
 For L2 Certification, it is required that you provide
details of your involvement in 3 areas of Giveback.
 In either level of certification, one area of Giveback
must be mentoring.

Giveback - Mentoring
 Mentoring is mandatory for both levels of
certification.
 Ideally, mentor several candidates at once
 Mentor/ mentee relationships can take many forms
– Hands-on assistance, e.g. reviewing presentations
– Career advice
– Developing networks and relationships
 A broad stable of mentees is even better – across
lines of business, geography, job roles

Giveback - Certification
 Participation in ITS Certification Review Boards
– Note: Participation on the IT Specialist certification review
board is by nomination only.
 Contributing to the quality, effectiveness and
vitality of the IT Specialist certification process
– For example, by participating in task forces to review and
recommend updates to certification processes and
requirements.

 Serving in a formal position recognized within your

– Asset Reuse Coordinator

 In general, you’re working with people outside of your normal
