Mark 8:25
Once more Jesus put his hands on the
man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his
sight was restored, and he saw everything
clearly.
The Hands of Jesus
what can hands teach us about ministry…
Jesus’ Hands Were Healing Hands
Matthew 8:1 When Jesus came down from the
mountainside, large crowds followed him. 2 A man
with leprosy came and knelt before him and said,
“Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 3
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I
am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was
cleansed of his leprosy.
Jesus’ Hands Were Healing Hands
 Jesus touched the un-touchable…
 Our “Ministry of Presence” should be a ministry of
touch…
 Matthew 9:12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not
the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But
go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not
sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous,
but sinners.”
Jesus’ Hands Were Healing Hands
 Luke 4:40 At sunset, the people brought to Jesus
all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying
his hands on each one, he healed them.
 Acts 8:18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was
given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he
offered them money
 1 Timothy 5:22 Do not be hasty in the laying on of
hands, and do not share in the sins of others.
Keep yourself pure.
Jesus’ Hands Were Helpful Hands
 Mark 9:14-27…
 Acts 10:37-38…
 We are to reflect the Glory of Jesus in our lives
and it must been seen by others in the deeds we
do…
 Titus 2:14…
 Matthew 5:16…
 Titus 3:8…
Jesus’ Hands Were Nail-Scarred
1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body
on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for
righteousness; “by his wounds you have been
healed.”
Romans 5:7 Very rarely will anyone die for a
righteous person, though for a good person
someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God
demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus’ Hands Were Inviting Hands
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary
and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my
yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle
and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is
light.”
Luke 14:23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go
out to the roads and country lanes and compel them
to come in, so that my house will be full.
It so often starts with a touch…
 Think of all the things that start with a touch…
 Today I hope that Jesus touched your heart and in
so doing you will be changed…
 What needs to change in your life…
It begins with a touch from the
Master, reach out and take a
hold…
