Bath Deanery
Everyone a disciple
Everyone a disciple-maker
Reflecting on Luke 5
JESUS
CALLS HIS DISCIPLES
Miracle Maker
Reflecting on Luke 5
JESUS
CALLS HIS DISCIPLES
Can I use your boat?
Put out a little further
Let your nets out
From now on you will fish for people
I wonder what your favourite part of this story is
I wonder what Simon thought when Jesus asked
for his boat
I wonder what Simon thought when Jesus told him to
let down his nets again
I wonder what Simon thought when he tried to pull up
the nets and they were too heavy with so many fish
I wonder how Simon felt when Jesus asked
him to follow him
I wonder why the fishermen were willing to
leave their ordinary lives and follow him
I wonder what it means to fish for people?
I wonder what kind of people Jesus wants
to be his disciples
I wonder if we have anything that Jesus might need?
I wonder how you feel about being a disciple?
Let us pray
Jesus is life
Jesus knows more than me
Jesus has invited me to follow him
Jesus wants me as his disciple
Jesus went through all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the
good news of the kingdom and healing every
disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds,
he had compassion on them, because they were
harassed and helpless, like sheep without a
shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The
harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask
the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out
workers into his harvest field."
