So…why learn about it?
 (1) To better understand legitimate biology/zoology
 (2) To apply the scientific method to this topic
 (3) Because it is interesting 

So…what is cryptozoology?
 The search for and the “study of” organisms that have
not yet been discovered by science
 Typically the scientific community’s view is that these
organism do not exist
Example: Bigfoot-this creature is alleged to be an
unknown species of primate, related to apes and
humans, that walks upright on two legs, is covered
with long brown or black hair, stands around 8 to 10
feet tall, lives in wilderness areas, and leaves very large
footprints. Also known as Sasquatch or the Abominable
Snowman

Example: Loch Ness Monster-this creature is
alleged to be an unknown marine animal possibly
related to a long-necked aquatic reptile (dinosaur)
called a plesiosaur. It reportedly lives in a large lake in
Scotland (Loch Ness), has a long neck and flippers, and
is also known as “Nessie)

alleged to be an unknown marine animal possibly
related to normal sized sea snakes.

and sucks out their blood. Also know as the “Goat
Sucker”.
