Singular Nouns
A SINGULAR noun is a
SINGLE (one) person, place,
thing, or idea.
- His aunt is ill.
- The library is open.
- Our team lost.
- All hope is lost.
Plural Nouns
PLURAL nouns are
MULTIPLE (more than one)
people, places, things, or
ideas.
- Our teachers left.
- The states are united.
- The kittens slept there.
- Our freedoms help us.

thing, or idea. A PROPER
noun is ALWAYS capitalized.

Concrete Nouns
 A CONCRETE noun is a noun
that can be observed with
some or all of the 5 senses.
- It can be: seen, heard,
smelled, tasted, and/or felt.
- It is an object that can be
held in your hand or
touched with your finger.
Abstract Nouns
 An ABSTRACT noun is a noun
that cannot be observed with
any of the 5 senses, and it
cannot be held or touched.
 Any noun that is NOT concrete
is abstract!
