The Myth of the Charioteer
 This idea is supposed to represent the
division of the human soul
-The Three Parts
>Charioteer - lover of wisdom
>First Horse - lover of honor
>Second Horse - lover of lust
Charioteer
 The Charioteer is the part of the soul that is
wise and the philosopher of a person.
The First Horse
 The first is represented as the good horse
 It is the part of the soul that wants do
everything right
The Second Horse
 The second horse is represented as the bad
horse
 It is the part of the soul that wants the bad
things like lust and sexual ideas
 It is the partier of the two horses
Platos techne of Rhetoric
 He derived his own definition of rhetoric
from this idea:
- Rhetoric is the art (rational
method) of leading the human soul
toward Truth through rational
argumentation
