What are the characteristics of rock?
• The characteristics of rock are
looks earthy and comes in brown
and orange colours. It comes in
different textures e.g. Bumpy,
crumbly, smooth hard, sharp.
Three types of rock
Igneous rocks , Sedimentary rocks and
Metamorphic rocks.
What is soil ?
Soil is the top layer of dirt that plants grow in
and get their nutrients from.
5 Different soil types
• 1. sandy soil 2. silty soil 3. clay soil 4. peaty
soil 5.saline soil
How are rocks and soil different?
• Soil supports plant life and helps it grow
depending on soil type. and rock makes a
barrier on top of the soil. Rocks soil
How does erosion affect rock and
soil?
Erosion affects rock and soil by water , wind , ice
