state that homosexuality is wrong

Christian response to homosexuality
Christians are deeply divided over homosexuality
Within the Christian Church, there is a wide range of responses to
homosexuality, from those who believe it to be unnatural and
immoral, to others who accept homosexuality as one form of a
loving relationship.
The reason for this is because of different interpretations of the Bible
What does the Bible say?
In the Old Testament it says: “No man is to have sexual relations with
another man; God hates that”
Jesus never said anything about homosexuality, but it is known that
he supported married relationships between men and women. His
message was one of love and forgiveness
There is though strong condemnation of homosexuality in the letters
of St Paul

•Generally Quakers
accept homosexual

that sex is for having

•Others argue that the
Bible has to be
interpreted for modern
society and it contains
stories of great love
between people of the
same sex (David and
Jonathan)
•Jesus taught that it is
love which matters most
