Paradigms of Self – how we see ourselves (can be helping or hindering you) Paradigms of Others – how we view others (we don’t’ usually have the whole story) Paradigms of Life – how we look at life (specifically what drives us, what is important to us, etc) Paradigms of Life Possible Centers or Paradigms of Life: Friend Centered – friends are important but should never be the center Stuff Centered – “He who dies with the most toys, wins” Boyfriend/Girlfriend Centered – the world revolves around them School Centered – should be important but not the only thing Paradigms of Life, Cont. Parent/Family Centered – should respect and honor them, but living to please them could end in disaster Other Possible Centers – Sports/Hobbies Hero Work Self You get the idea You Ask, “What Should We Be Centered On…” Principles Examples of Principles Honesty Hard Work Integrity Respect As a class brainstorm a list of possible life principles If who I am is what I have and what I have is lost, then who am I? You’re not overly concerned about being popular. You act arrogant to help hide insecurities. You trust yourself. You get jealous easily, especially when someone close to you succeeds.
