Areas of Refuge

• North and South Towers - areas of refuge are separated
by fire barriers at the south tower and elevator lobby
• On Network levels 4, 5, & 6 – look for “Smoke Door” sign
on door to locate adjacent area of refuge
• Moving patients to other floors or from the building is a
last resort and done in coordination with the fire
department
