WHAT ARE THE ISSUES?
How is each area
managed? What
management strategies
can you find evidence
of?
MAKING CONNECTIONS –HUMAN IMPACTS ON THE COASTAL ENVIRONMENT
OUR VALUABLE ESTUARIES, COASTS and MARINE
ENVIRONMENTS NEED PROTECTION. MOST OF OUR
POPULATION LIVES IN THE COASTAL ZONE.
LOOK FOR CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PARTS OF THE CATCHMENT
and THE IMPACTS OF ACTIVITIES IN THE CATCHMENT ON
ECOSYSTEMS, WATER QUALITY AND STAKEHOLDERS .
WILL CLIMATE CHANGE HAVE AN IMPACT?

impacts?
What management strategies
are needed to protect the
environment?
What
stakeholders
may be
affected?
Using Google Earth
A GIS can be a useful tool for exploring these issues. Google Earth will be used to
explore the study area before fieldwork and to develop a multimedia presentation
of our RAP
