Application Considerations
 Carefully read all 10 Professional Practices and
note with a highlighter the text that aligns with your
experience
 Chose the 3 or 5 Professional Practices for which
you have the most significant experience
 Describe and submit your own experience – make
sure that you respond with “I” rather than “we”
 Be sure that you address all aspects of your
experience

Application Considerations
 Be brief but cover your experience thoroughly
 1000 to 1500 words is appropriate for each PP
 Use extra pages if the form does not provide
sufficient space
 Send your application to your references before
you send it to DRI CANADA. Ask if they agree with
your statements
 Request your references to respond promptly when
DRI CANADA sends the forms for validation

 Two references per Professional Practice but it can
be the same 2 for all 3 or 5 areas submitted if
appropriate
 Two years of total experience is required; be
certain the various periods total at least two years
 Convey yourself as a competent professional

 When describing experience don’t refer to your
résumé – describe your experience on the
application form
• What you did and how you did it
 Don’t write in the reference section
 Don’t print the application double-sided
 Don’t cut and paste from the professional practices
or from other application areas.
