My Own Work: My Sister Jana
I do have a sister, but this is a
fictional book.
The whole family are very busy lately,
because my mother is going to have a baby.
“Congradulation!”
Everyone says that to me.
I don’t know if there is anything to be
happy about. But I am sure “the baby”
might not be anything good.
Mom’s tommy is getting bigger and bigger.
It happened that one day after the ninth
month…
Mom and dad went to the hospital and stayed
there for several days. When they came back,
there is a “sister” in Mom’s arms.
“Jenny, want to touch Jana? ”Dad says.
When I just raise my hand, she starts crying.
“What a naughty!” I think .
I didn’t sleep well last night, since Jana Kept
crying. It drove me crazy.
Why didn’t mom get upset?
She is unable to go to the toilet herself, and has
to wear diapers. “What a shame!”
I murmur to myself.
I sit side by side with Mom and ask her
“Was I like her when I was so little?”
“Of course.” Mom replies. “Everyone is ignorant
at that age and needs parents’ care.
The next day I go to Jana’s room in
the morning and play blocks with her.
While we are playing together, I find
that Jana isn’t so unpleasant any more”

blessing of a preacher.
The preacher bids them his best wish.
The director’s girl friend interrupts the rehearsing
and ask him to let her play the heroine’s role.
He is so unreasonable and illogical;
he is also very charming and beautiful, isn’t he.
Doubt not. He is a boy.
The outcome is a mess of happy ending
but not a disaster.
The Bad Tempered Ladybird
Revised from Eric Carl’s Picture Book
It is about a bad tempered ladybird’s one-day
journey of learning to behave himself.
The journey begins from six o’clock in the
morning and ends at six o’clock in the evening.
The bad tempered ladybird meets various
kinds of animals right at each hour.
The first words he speaks out is
“Hey you, want to fight?”
No one is afraid of his offensive manners,
and responds with stronger defiance.
At 5 o’clock, he meets the biggest
creature on earth: the blue whale.
It takes him 45 minutes to fly
from the whale’s head to its tail.
The bad tempered ladybird shouts at
everything that can move, even the
whale’s flipper, fin, and tail.
Do you know how big is the blue whale?
Do you know what is the whale’s
response to the bad tempered ladybird’s
rude attitude?
Finally, he learns his lesson and know
the meaning of friendship and sharing.
I Wish I Were a Butterfly
Revised from James Howe’s Picture Book
It is about a little cricket’s
quest for his own value.
All the characters are from the same class.
They also present a beautiful song in the
glory of all mighty God before the show.
Students’ parents help make the costumes.
The confidentless cricket and his mother
who encourages him to explore the world.
The cricket’s companies play outside happily.
The unconfident cricket meets a caterpillar.
Then he meets a beetle.
Do you know what happened
when he gets to the riverside.
Here comes a dragonfly.
There is also an old tree by the river.
The unsure cricket notices the web in the tree.
A friendly spider appears from its web.
The spider assures the timid cricket about
the meaning of each creature’s existence.
They look into the water and
ponder on what they see.
Do you know what they see?
Let’s find out and enjoy the show.
