SpeechCraft
SpeechCraft
What is SpeechCraft?
• SpeechCraft is a 4-8 session workshop
designed to teach communication and
leadership skills to groups of 5-10
participants.
• A team of experienced Toastmasters
conducts the SpeechCraft using materials
supplied by Toastmasters International.

How SpeechCraft Program Works
Integral part of Club meeting – extra 30 minutes, 5 Participants
• Advantages:
– Provides participants with a sample of the TM club experience
– Easier for participants to become members
Outside of Club meeting – 60-90 minutes
• Advantages:
– More participants can be accommodated
– Conduct the program for a particular group
– Possible formation of a new Toastmasters club

meeting roles

• Give experienced members an opportunity to grow
• Share the Toastmasters experience with others
• SpeechCraft students who decide to join the club are up to
speed and already have 3-4 speeches towards their CC.
• SpeechCraft students invite their family and friends to the
graduation ceremony, which takes place at club meeting
location – which introduces them to Toastmasters and
possibly inspire them to join.
• Acquire additional funds in their treasury if SpeechCraft
students choose to not join the club (see “fees” below)

• One member can earn credit towards AL by
conducting Evaluation Course

This speech training workshop will bring prospective new members
into your club to see what Toastmasters is all about. Can be
presented either as an integral part of your club meeting or as an
outside-the-club seminar at a different location.

District 38 Incentive
• District 38 leadership has generously offered to
provide at no charge (i.e. FREE!) the $20 TI
SpeechCraft Starter Kit (Item 205) to the first 20
clubs who hold a SpeechCraft during the months
of January 2014 through March 2014.
• To qualify, you must submit your SpeechCraft
event to the District 38 calendar and send your
SpeechCraft flyer (flyer must include dates, club
name, contact person and location) to the District
38 SpeechCraft coordinator: Brian Cavanaugh
(speechcraft@tmdistrict38.org ).

Rules for Fees
• Clubs may charge a reasonable fee for
conducting a SpeechCraft program.
• The fee should cover program expenses
(materials, refreshments, room rental).
• Any remaining money must be placed in
the club’s treasury. (No individuals, educational
institutions or other organizations may derive financial gain
either directly or indirectly from the presentation of these
programs.)
