What is EndNote?
• EndNote is a program that will put your
references and citations into APA format
• EndNote will automatically create your
reference list for you
• Each time you cite a new reference, the
new reference will be added to your
reference list (in the right place)
• AUT students can get EndNote for FREE!

The Computer Literacy Videos
• You can use the Videos to learn about Word,
APA Format, EndNote, …
• The videos are too long to play over the Internet
– 50 videos
– Over 2 hours total
• You will need to copy the videos to
CD-ROM for use at home
• See Video 1e to see how to do this or get the
Videos copied when you get a copy of EndNote
in AL125

Two EndNote Problems:
• Look in the red EndNote submenu to find
the answers to these problems:
• Problem 1. After installing EndNote and
opening Microsoft Word, I do not see the
EndNote toolbar or commands under the
Tools menu. How can I fix this?
(see FAQ 7)
• Problem 2. How can I add page numbers
to Citations?
Slide 9 of 18
EndNote
• You are required to present your assignments in
APA Format
• EndNote is a program that will put your
references and citations into APA format
• AUT students can get EndNote for free by taking
a blank CD-ROM to AL125
• You can also now get the Computer Literacy
Videos on the same CD-ROM in AL125!
• It is faster not to use a rewritable CD
• Remember that APA Format covers all your
assignment presentation- not just referencing
