ISCF announcement and launch
• On 31st August 2012, we launched a new
£2.2m fund for local NHS organisations to
deliver digital services that improve patient
care
Who?
• The Fund is open to NHS organisations in England, with
the exception of strategic health authorities (SHAs) and
primary care trusts (PCTs) due to limitations associated
with the payment mechanisms.
– SHAs and PCTs should approach an acute NHS trust/Foundation trust
within their area to be the lead organisation on any applications they
wish to make.
• The fund is not directly open to suppliers and system
developers. Our intent is to stimulate the NHS to
purchase standards based products. Suppliers should
partner with local NHS organisations to deliver these
products
What?
• Because timescales are tight (completion by 31st
March2013) we have asked for a limited number
of largely pre-existing ITK themes:
– Clinical Correspondence
• Just about any document type can be shared, PDF, DOC, XML
• Plain text and coded information
