What’s the rationale for the change? • It is proposed that from 1st October 2012, Paul Taylor’s Exchange Infrastructure and Build team, will focus solely on UK exchange infrastructure plan and build. • Therefore Mark Williamson will be taking a leading role in managing the Global teams. • It is proposed to combine teams with a similar focus managing the Global estate. • This is purely an organisational lift and shift; there are no efficiencies associated with this change and there is no other work that is in scope. What the team does now and what will they be doing once the move takes place? • Currently these 20 people design, plan, build and operate the Global Accommodation Infrastructure (Power, Cooling, Physical security) in BT `s Node Sites and Data Centres outside UK. • The Front Office team take care for the Footprint delivery for all Sites across the Globe outside UK. When they move to Mark Williamson’s team, they will be doing exactly the same work just in a different part of BT. There are no changes to job descriptions. © British Telecommunications plc 3 Timings and Contacts Action Timeline Initial briefing by Mark Williamson to the BTECC 12 September 2012 Briefing pack and engagement with Unions and Works Councils 17 to 24 September 2012 Line Managers brief to those impacted 24 September 2012 OUC’s change 1 October 2012 20 people moved into Mark’s team 1 October 2012 Communication from Mark Williamson’s team to welcome people to new team 1 October 2012 Contacts for Further Information • Lindsay Fells HR Business Partner – EIPB, BT Operate.
