Skogstad for Larry Leifer, Ph.D. Goal To start a clone of ME 310 in Wolfsburg with the intention that VW AutoUni will be able to teach this course independently of Stanford University in the future. (Potentially Klaus, Bill Cockayne, ???) • Preferred Scenario: One Instructor & one nearpeer (Georg?) as TTeam, One Technical Consultant (Experienced Engineer), One Business Consultant (Experienced Manager), Coaches (Stanford Visitors) Collaboration with Stanford University & University of St. Gallen • Teams Collaborate with Student Teams at Stanford University (& maybe HSG, Switzerland) • Calendar: Stanford University Calendar drives everything. • Infrastructure: Use of ME 310’s Docushare, Wiki etc. • Assignments: Same for all Teams • Travel: Teams visit each other Timeline for Year 1: Academic Year 2005-2006 • Course Planning over Summer & early Fall 2005 • Start Course in October (or September if Paper Bike included) • Finish with EXPE on June 1 • Team Travel: December & April My Role • Visit Wolfsburg this summer to help instructors determine expectations • Write Project Proposals with VW • Help Start-up Course potentially • Write Assignments • Help Grading first set of reports • Research on Design Habits by Observation at all sites of the project
