EPI (Heath Department Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa's mission is to reach every
children, mother and create the demands for
vaccination, inspire breakthroughs in the way
the world treats children, mothers and to
achieve immediate and lasting change in their
lives.

Converted to the regular budget since 1996.

General Objectives


Reduction of mortality and morbidity resulting from EPI
target diseases by immunizing children under 1-2 year and
pregnant women.
Specific objectives.





Stop indigenous poliovirus transmission
Elimination of Neo-Natal Tetanus, by the year 2010.
Reduction in Measles mortality by 95 % and Measles
morbidity by 90% by 2011.
Reduction of Diphtheria, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, and
Childhood Tuberculosis ,HIB, Meningitis to a minimum level.
Control of other diseases by introducing new vaccines in EPI.




90% routine immunization coverage of all antigens
in all districts/union council
Stop indigenous poliovirus transmission

Neonatal tetanus elimination
