Vocabulary Matchbook • Objective: To create 3 Matchbooks using computer vocabulary from handout. • Materials: Two pieces of colored construction paper, Microsoft Word, Clip Art, Scissors, and glue. How to make Matchbooks 1. Fold a sheet of construction paper like a hamburger (horizontally). Fold it so that one side is 1 inch longer than the other side 2. Fold the 1 inch tab over the short side, forming an envelope-like fold 3. Cut the front flap in half toward the mountain top (creased edge) to create two flaps. Purpose of Matchbooks • Matchbooks are used to report on different topics. They are like interactive flashcards. • You can use them to study or just make learning a new topic more fun. What goes on my Matchbook? • Use your Computers: Inside and Out worksheet • Pick 3 vocabulary words that you would like to make a matchbook about. Content Open Microsoft Word and open a blank document. Pick a font that works well with your vocabulary word. Type out the vocabulary word(s) and definition(s).
