Introduction
In this PowerPoint I will be discussing the well
known explorer, Giovanni De Verrazano. I will
include why he traveled to North America, the
obstacles he faced, the reactions from the Native
Americans, and his contributions to NYS. There
are many reasons as to why I chose to study this
explorer. For example, I wanted to know how
Giovanni De Verrazano founded the landmarks.
Moreover, I wanted to know what his contributions.
I wanted to know if he did really die eaten by the
Native Americans and if not, how he died. In
addition to those reasons, I was so curious to know
what he did with the little Native American girl he
stole and why he stole her. I really want to know if he
really did these things if not why he got killed.
Reasons as to why Giovanni Da
Verrazano went to North America
My explorer came to North America for a many reasons.
Giovanni De Verrazano went to North America to claim sites.
He was doing this for King Francois the king of France if the
land wasn’t already claimed it will belong to him. In addition, the
king got money out of it. Moreover, he went to trade with the
people of North America. In addition, he wanted to find riches
such as species and other thing very valuable.
The obstacles Giovanni Da Verrazano
faced on his Journey
•
The obstacles my explorer faced during his
journey. Some of the boats that he took to bring back
voyages got destroyed. All voyages weren't all easy
because he had to captain each and every
voyage.”Giovanni de Verrazano found it hard to trade
with Maine’s natives because they treated the English
with great caution because men were constantly marching
on taking land.”
The reactions of the Native American’s
toward Giovanni
The reactions the Native Americans had toward Giovanni
de Verrazano were not very good. For example, Giovanni de
Verrazano wasn’t always welcome with every tribe he wanted
to trade with because they felt like he was an intruder and not
one of them. I would agree with the Native Americans I
wouldn’t welcome a stranger like him. The Native Americans
weren’t welcoming him because he made them feel
uncomfortable and they felt like he was stealing from them.
The contributions of Giovanni Da
Verrazano to New York
•
Giovanni's contribute to New York must
have been big because a bridge was named
after him. He banked the metropolis of the
US. He presented the sites of New York
harbor and Narragansett Bay. Giovanni
discovered the Carolina banks. Is it cool to
discover a place and know that you
discovered it?
Conclusion
In conclusion, Giovanni de Verrazano gave many
things to New York City. Furthermore, he represented
France in a very good way. Giovanni De Verrazano
was born in 1485 in Tuscany, Italy and died on 1528 at
the age of 43. He died in West Indies he was
murdered and eaten by the natives.
