Mark 3:7-8
7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the
sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him,
and from Judaea,
8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from
beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a
great multitude, when they had heard what great
things he did, came unto him.

Idumea
Region. Idumea was a Greek word meaning "pertaining
to Edom". This term was given by the Greeks and
Romans for the country of Edom on the South borders
of Judea inhabited by Idumeans (Edomites) (Mark 3:8;)
EDOM E'dom, or Idume'a The name Edom was given to
Esau, the first-born son of Isaac and twin brother of
Jacob, when he sold his birthright to the latter for a
meal of lentil pottage. The country which the Lord
subsequently gave to Esau was hence called "the
country of Edom,”.
