Delphine is 13 yrs. old and
she and her sisters live with
her grand mother and her
dad.
Cecile id Delphine and her
sisters mother. She
abandoned them and
moved to Oakland.

This is where Delphine
and her 2 sisters go
every day during the
summer for breakfast,
lunch, and sometimes
poetry.

The conflict was when the
three sisters mom ( Cecile) got
put in jail because she was
protesting.
The type of conflict is man vs.
society.
The conflict was resolved by the
children raising money for their
mom bail.

I Predicted that
Delphine, Vonnetta,
and Fern were not
going to like their
mother and then
eventually like her
because they did not
know her when they
first arrived in Oakland
for summer vacation.

My prediction was
accurate and the 3
sisters did not like
their mom but over
time they changed and
liked her more than
they expected.

The Theme of “ one Crazy summer” is about
not judging people on the way they act or
look because at the end of the day you see
that person is totally different
