Nonfiction Unit Vocabulary
Extraneous – not belonging or proper to a
thing.
Inappropriate information - information
which does not suit the context of the
research.
Organizational pattern – the way
research information is presented.
Composition – an act of producing a
literary work; an essay.
Nonfiction Unit Vocabulary
Identify – to recognize as being a particular
person or thing.
Inquiry – a seeking for truth; a question.
Investigation – detailed or careful
examination (observation).
Research – investigation into a subject to
discover facts.
Nonfiction Unit Vocabulary
Credit – acknowledgement for using literary
work.
Quoted – to repeat (a passage, phrase, etc)
from a book or speech.
Paraphrase – the process of restating or
rewording.
