
What is it?


Are Resellers authorized by Microsoft or by Synnex?


Microsoft is launching a pilot program into the Public Sector space. This includes federal government, state and
local government, EDU, and some healthcare providers.
Both. Synnex choose Resellers to be a part of this pilot program. We are waiting on the legal documents from
Microsoft. We have a launch date of 11/3/14.
Is it an agent program or a direct sale for the Partner?

The sale goes through the partner, but Synnex is required to ship to the End User only.

Does the pilot program have an expiration date?


How does pricing work? Can they get deal registration?


Yes (5 different devices + Accessories + Warranties)
Can Resellers represent ourselves as “Surface Authorized Reseller”?


There are no requirements. We chose to do this because we were receiving frequent requests
to do this and we saw an opportunity to drive volume.
Does the authorization allow the partner to purchase all Surface SKUs?


These Resellers qualify for all special pricing programs (Volume Discount, Deal Reg, Bid Grid).
Are there revenue expectations or requirements?


The pilot programs will initially be 6 months.
We’re waiting for Microsoft to confirm this.
Is this a Public Sector offering only?

Yes, Public Sector only at this time. If large opportunities outside of public sector come up,
we can ask for one-off exceptions!
Public Sector Sales & GSA

This will be rolled out next week but wanted to make sure our Federal/GSA teams
understand the program:

-Microsoft’s Affiliate Program consists of 50 of our Public Sector resellers who are
authorized to sell the Microsoft Surface into Fed, State/Local Gov, Education and
Healthcare.

-Affiliates who have a teaming agreement with SYNNEX on GSA are authorized to sell
Microsoft Surface on our GSA Schedule. These are all teaming partners at this
time. They are noted on the attached database.

-If you are not in the Affiliate Program then you can’t sell Surface into Public
Sector. HOWEVER, Exceptions will be made!

-We are the first to market although both IM and TD will have the same offering.

-We do have Surface on our GSA Schedule at this time, but only one sku is TAA. We
are in the process of adding some bundles that will include the docking
station/Mouse/Keyboard/Warranty and several variations.

Microsoft is offering a tiered rebate for resellers purchasing 5-499 devices at a time.

End User Information is required, cannot be the same as Reseller

Qty’s MUST be placed on ONE PO (no roll outs)

This rebate is setup to auto-populate in the system when you have entered the deal quantity. These
rebates STACK with Deal Registration.

Demo Program for Approved Deal Registration

If the reseller’s deal registration email includes confirmation of eligibility of demo then your
reseller is able to purchase the following devices based on the volume of the opportunity.

Deal Reg must include the following: “You are now eligible to purchase demo unit(s) at a 50%
discount for the Customer of this registered and approval deal. The number of demo units you
are eligible to purchase is contingent upon deal size. Please refer to the Device Partner
Program site for more details.”

The account is eligible for a number of demo devices based on the below table. Eligible for a
cover in a 1:1 ratio with devices, also listed in the below demo part number table.
