Apostrophes are little marks of punctuation, but
they can have a big effect on meaning.

RULES, RULES, RULES…
1. To form the possessive of a singular noun,
simply add ‘s
The monster’s nose
The ant’s antennas
RULE #2
If a noun is plural and ends in s, just add an
apostrophe at the end of the word.
The monsters’ noses
The ants’ antennas
RULE #3
If a noun is plural and does not end in s, add ‘s at
the end of the word.
The children’s candy
The mice’s whiskers
