Self Esteem What it’s not: (cont) • - It is not being good looking, wealthy, or having many friends. Many of these people cannot get through a single day without drugs. • - It is not 12 hugs a day at school. Kid still has to go home. Gets a false sense. • - Nothing bothers you if you have high self esteem. • 1900 – 90% of grandchildren lived with or in the neighborhood of grandparents • 1940 – 70% • Today – Less than 10% • The “Gran Torino” granddaughter.
