We will need to develop an icon-driven, graphical kid’s catalog for our K-12 schools and public libraries in time for our 2011 Evergreen migration. I’m putting out some feelers … Is there any other library system out there currently on or planning to migrate to Evergreen who would like to consider partnering with us in this kid’s catalog design project? If you’re interested, please email me at terlaga@biblio.org. Thanks! Amy KIDS’ CATALOG BEGINNINGS Features: - graphical, icon driven subject categories, search box - customize each search button to bring up the library’s juvenile holdings - website links could also be added KIDS’ CATALOG, PHASE TWO Programming the back end – Equinox March 2011, then stalled – more funding needed July 2011 – staff interface dropped to lower costs More partners sign on in October 2011: C/W MARS and Pioneer Library Network KIDS’ CATALOG: IT’S ALIVE! Testing in the Summer of 2012 (could have been more rigorous) Released in Fall of 2012 Bibliomation uses children’s librarians and school library media specialist to come up with subject categories KIDS’ CATALOG: IT’S ALIVE!
