SERMON ON THE MOUND
BASEBALL FEVER– ALL
BASEBALL FEVER

We’re the Soaring Eagles in red and white, the
baseball team that is dynamite. We’ve learned
some new things while training here. Suit up for
Christ, put on your gear. You gotta hit to win,
cross the home plate, a grand slam is headed
your way. Keep your eye on the ball, and
remember your call at the old ball game!
BASEBALL FEVER

It’s a whole new ball game with Jesus, we all
run straight for the prize. Look at ev’ry hit as
it’s your home-run, then crack that bat and run
straight to the Son. We’re the Soaring Eagles
who rise above the battles of earth through
God’s love. We’ve got nine on our team, and
we play like a dream at the old ball game.
Baseball fever can you feel it? Baseball fever
catch the Spirit!

THE ARMOR OF GOD – AGUARINO SINGS
THE ARMOR OF GOD

I am strong, so strong when I put on the armor
of God, the armor of God. I can fight the fight
when I put on the armor of God, the armor of
God. When the fiery darts from Satan are
headed my way, I’ll follow Jesus, I’ll draw my
sword and bravely say: I’ve got the belt of truth
buckled around, around my waist. And the
breastplate of His righteousness guards my
heart when it’s in place.
THE ARMOR OF GOD

I hold my shield of faith and Satan’s darts all
ricochet. With my helmet on my head, I know
I’m safe in the armor of God, in the armor of
God. I am strong, so strong when I put on the
armor of God, the armor of God. I can fight the
fight when I put on the armor of God, the armor
of God. When the fiery darts from Satan are
headed my way, I’ll follow Jesus, I’ll draw my
sword and bravely say:
THE ARMOR OF GOD

Now my feet are fitted with the gospel, the
gospel of peace. I’ll go where-ever hope is
needed, in Jesus’ name, I’ll set men free. Then
I’ll draw my mighty sword, the Word’s the
weapon for this war. Jesus Christ is lifted up,
let’s crown Him Lord, in the armor of God, in
the armor of God.
OUR HEAD COACH – WALLACE SINGS
OUR HEAD COACH

If the Lord is our head coach, we’ll run our lives
from His approach. We’ll walk the walk and
talk the talk, we’ll ask and seek and knock. It
takes heart felt obedience. Our fruit is the
evidence. We’ve heard the sermon on the
mound, we’ll play this game on solid ground. So
if the Lord is our head coach, we will learn the
rules our head coach wrote.
OUR HEAD COACH

I will learn God’s Word, I’ll know right from
wrong. I will learn God’s Word, that’s how I am
strong. When it’s my turn at the plate, I’ll speak
God’s Word and firmly state: “We’re more than
conquerors through Christ, our Lord, Christ, our
Lord! We’re more than conquerors through
Christ, our Lord.”
OUR HEAD COACH

If the Lord is our head coach, we’ll have His
Spirit and we’ll know how to shine our light and
live for God. To the world, it may seem odd.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they know
God is never far. We’ve heard the sermon on
the mound, we’ll play this game on solid
ground. So if the Lord is our head coach, we
will learn the rules our head coach wrote.

THE EAGLES’ CHEER– MRS. HAMMER
SINGS
THE EAGLES’ CHEER

We are the eagles that soar in the sky. We get
our flying orders from God, Most High. He’s
our Rock, we’re His flock, and we have good
news! The kingdom of heaven can be home to
you! Soar……..Eagles!
PLAYING RIGHT FIELD– MRS. D. SINGS
PLAYING RIGHT FIELD

Saturday, summer, when I was a kid, we’d run
to the school yard and here’s what we did:
we’d pick out the captains, then we’d choose
up the teams. It was always a measure of my
self esteem, ‘cause the fastest, the strongest
played shortstop and first. The last ones they
picked were the worst. Well I never needed to
ask, it was sealed. I just took up my place in
right field.
PLAYING RIGHT FIELD
Play – ing– right field, it’s easy, ya’ know. You
can be awkward, you can be slow, that’s why
I’m here in right field just watchin’ the
dandelions grow.
 Playin’ right field can be lonely and dull. Little
leagues never have lefties at all. I dream of the
day they hit one my way. They never did, but
still I would pray that I’d make a fantastic catch
on the run and not lose the ball in the sun.

PLAYING RIGHT FIELD
And then I’d awake from this long reverie and
pray that the ball would never come out to me.
Here in right field, it’s easy, ya’ know. You can
be awkward you can be slow, that’s why I’m
here in right field just watchin’ the dandelions
grow.
 Off in the distance, the game’s dragging on.
There’s strikes on the batter, some runners are
on. I don’t know the inning, I’ve forgotten

PLAYING RIGHT FIELD

The score, the whole team is yelling and I don’t
know what for. Then suddenly ev’ryone’s
lookin’ at me, my mind has been wandering,
“What could it be?” They point to the sky, and I
look up above, and a baseball falls into my
glove. Here in right field, it’s important, ya’
know. You gotta know how to catch, you gotta
know how to throw, that’s why I’m here in right
field just watchin’ the dandelions grow.
IT TAKES A TEAM– MR. PEREZ SINGS
IT TAKES A TEAM

It takes a team, it takes a team, when ev’ry
player does their job, you’ve got a team. Yes,
we all have diff’rent gifts but one Spirit leads us
all. Our strength is in our unity, “To live for
Christ,” our call! It takes a team, it takes a
team to play baseball. Hand in hand, heart to
heart, ev’ry one must play their part. Side by
side, watch us grow, ev’ry step will lead us
closer home.
IT TAKES A TEAM

It takes a church, it takes a church, ev’ry
member serves the Lord and that’s the church.
Yes, we all have diff’rent gifts, but one Spirit
leads us all. Our strength is in our unity, “To life
for Christ,” our call! It takes a church, it takes a
church to reach the world. Hand in hand, heart
to heart, ev’ry one must play their part. Side by
side, watch us grow, ev’ry step will lead us.
IT TAKES A TEAM

Hand in hand, heart to heart, ev’ry one must
play their part. Side by side, watch us grow,
ev’ry step will lead us closer home, closer
home. Ev’ry step will lead us closer home.
CASEY’S BACK AT BAT– MR. BRENNER
SINGS
CASEY’S BACK AT BAT

The outlook was lookin’ brighter for the
Mudville nine that day. That was ‘til mighty
Casey let his pride get in the way. The score
stood four to two with one inning to occur, with
Jimmy safe at second and Flynn a huggin’ third.
Huggin’ “thirrrrd.” Then five thousand fans
rose to their feet and they began to shout. The
Mudville Nine have got a chance, with Casey,
there’s no doubt.
CASEY’S BACK AT BAT

There was ease in Casey’s manner as he
stepped into his place. There was pride in
Casey’s stature and a smile on Casey’s face.
Oh, how we love a ball game! Oh, how we love
to cheer. It’s Casey’s turn and he’s at the plate.
We’re so excited now, isn’t life great! That’s
exactly when old Casey fell into the sin of pride.
He let strike one and two go by and took it all in
stride.
CASEY’S BACK AT BAT

Then came the ball he thought would make the
children laugh and shout. But there was no joy
in Mudville-----mighty Casey has struck out!
Take me home from this ball game! Get me out
of this crowd. Casey blew it, he better pack.
There’s no way he will every come back! Well
guess who’s suited up this year scoring points
for the Eagles’ team. He’s like a new man at
this game. Will wonders ever cease?
CASEY’S BACK AT BAT

Casey met the Lord one day when he called to
Jesus Christ. He bent his knee and said a
prayer and received eternal life. Eternal life.
And oh, how sweet forgiveness was when he
confessed his pride. And oh, the mercy shown
to him and the joy he has inside. He often
speaks of his Mudville days, but now he wears
a smile. If it caused me to turn to Jesus, it’s
really all been worthwhile.
CASEY’S BACK AT BAT

We’re so proud of our Casey. We’re so glad
that He’s changed. We’re the Soaring Eagles
up at the plate at the old ball game! Charge!
THE GOOD FIGHT– MR. D. SINGS
THE GOOD FIGHT

All I ever have to know, to fight the good fight,
all I ever need to know I’ll look to You. Your
ways are higher, so much higher, Lord, than I
can see. But you promised if I ask You will
teach me. Lord, I know you guide Your children
through their trials. Lord, I know You’re on my
side when You’re proclaimed. Your ways are
higher, so much higher, Lord, than I can see.
THE GOOD FIGHT

But I know when I’m with You I can succeed. I
know I can do anything through Jesus Christ,
my Lord. You are wondrous in all Your ways,
and it’s You, Lord, we adore. When I place my
faith in You, I soar with eagles. When I put my
trust in You, I rise above. Your ways are higher,
so much higher, Lord, than I can see. But when
I’m with You, I know my spirit’s free.
THE GOOD FIGHT

I know I can do anything through Jesus Christ,
my Lord. You are wondrous in all Your ways,
and it’s You, Lord, we adore. And It’s You, Lord,
we adore,………………that we adore.
THE LORD’S PRAYER– WATTS SINGS
THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father up in heaven, how we honor Your
holy name. Our Father up in heaven, how we
honor Your holy name. May Your kingdom
come, may Your will be done here on earth as it
is in heaven. May Your kingdom come, may
your will be done here on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and
forgive us of our sins as we forgive those who
have sinned against us.
THE LORD’S PRAYER

Father, keep us from temptation; deliver us
from the evil one. Mold my life, Lord, change
my heart to forgive and live like You. May I light
the way for others in all I say and do. Our
Father up in heaven, how we honor Your holy
name. Our Father up in heaven, how we honor
Your holy name, how we honor Your holy name.
HOME RUN– ALL
HOME RUN

The lights go on another game day, he grabbed
his bat and headed for the plate, but the first
pitch was a curve and he was cone. Strike
One! He stepped outta the box, looked the
pitcher in the eye, you could read his lips, “Hey,
punk, your’e mine.” So he gave him a wink and
said, “Let’s see what you can do.” Strike two!
Gotta keep your eye on the ball, swing straight
and true and follow through.
HOME RUN

Don’t be afraid, whatever the call, because
we’re never alone, our coach is there to cheer
us on. Well it’s the wind up, here comes the
ball. You gotta pray and swing, watch it ‘til it’s
goin’, goin, it’s gone! Home, home, home run,
we need a home run! Home, home, home run!
You know life can be like a baseball game,
we’re on the same team, but we’re not all the
same.
HOME RUN

That’s why we’ve got to learn to play together. I
didn’t join this team to sit on the bench. I’m
goin’ deep, I’m swingin’ for the fence! I got
some friends on base, I gotta get home. Gotta
keep your eye on the ball, swing straight and
true and follow through. Don’t be afraid,
whatever the call, because we’re never alone,
our coach is there to cheer us on. Well it’s the
wind up, here comes the ball.
HOME RUN

You gotta pray and swing, watch it ‘til it’s goin’,
goin, it’s gone! Home, home, home run, we
need a home run! Home, home, home run! We
are not the first to play this game, or stand over
this plate. We are surrounded by the legacy
that’s sittin’ in the stands. You can see them
wavin’ their hands sayin’ “Go, go all the way!”
HOME RUN

Come on now! Home, home, home run, we got
a home run! Home, home, home run! Home,
home, home run, we got a home run! Home,
home, home run! We got a home run! We got
a home run!
