Count Around Jigsaw
1.
At your table, count around 1 through 5.
2.
Go to the designated tables for 1s, 2s, 3s, etc..
3.
At your table, read your domain (1s read Domain 1, e.g.).
Highlight important portions that you want to be sure to
discuss.
4.
Discuss with your group the important attributes of your
domain so that everyone can share the group’s input with their
original table group.
11
Find the Domain
Activity
S Read the short vignette on your card and use the post-it
notes to jot evidence of a domain and related components.
S Choose the area of the room (designated by the Domain
number) that you think best fits your card.
S Once everyone has chosen an area, begin reading your
vignettes until a trend is noted and discussed. Your group
might choose to read aloud all the cards.

as the most important school-based factor in
student achievement (McCaffrey, Lockwood, Koretz, &
Hamilton, 2003; Rivkin, Hanushek, & Kain, 2000; Rowan, Correnti &
Miller, 2002; Wright, Horn, & Sanders, 1997), and
teacher effects
on student learning have baeen found to be
cumulative and long-lasting” (Kain, 1998; McCaffrey et al.,
2003; Mendro, Jordan, Gomez, anderson, & Bembry, 1998; Rivers, 1999; Sanders
