English :
Separate question paper and answer sheet format replaces the combined booklet format :
The paper shall be for a duration of 3 hours. Maximum marks 90.
The paper will consist of four sections :
Section A – Reading – 20 marks
Section B – Writing – 20 marks
Section C – Grammar – 25 marks
Section D – Literature – 25 marks
Total – 90 marks
Section A – Reading (20 marks)
Four unseen reading passages of 5 marks each. The passages will be extracts from poems / factual / descriptive / literary / discursive passages.
Questions will test inference, evaluation and vocabulary. The total length of the 4 passages will be between 650 and 800 words.
Section B – Writing (20 marks)
This section assesses the student on her ability to use appropriate vocabulary and grammar, expand an idea in a single paragraph composition coherently as well as deal with compositions based on virtual stimulus.
This section shall include:

Section C – Grammar (25 marks)
A variety of short questions involving the use of particular structures within a context. Test types used will include –
- Gap filling
- Sentence completion
- Reordering word groups in sentences (Jumbled words)

- Omission

Mathematics :
Academic achievement (in the subject) of the learner will be evaluated on the basis of :- i) Understanding the mathematical skills. ii) Application of acquired knowledge iii) Calculation skills and Geometrical skills
The question paper will be of 90 marks and will be divided into 4 sections.
