The Forest Floor The forest floor receives the least amount of sunlight, so not many things are not able to live there. This layer has so many leaves and vines that many animals cannot get through. Some of the creatures that live here are butterflies, monkeys, and insects. The Canopy There are a lot of flowers and fruits in this layer. The vines that Tarzan swings on grow here, and they are called Lianas. The Emergent Layer The emergent layer is the sixth layer, which is at the top of the rain forest. It is around 200 feet above the forest floor. The trees in this layer have to be able to handle strong winds. Some of them even have seeds that are able to be moved by the wind. Some animals that live in this layer are bats and eagles.
