High Lights-Innovations that we are proud of:
1. Triggering a kebele(the smallest
Administrative Unit) in one day ie many
villages by clustering them into groups of
villages.
2. Involving schools fo triggering and monitoring.
3. Organizing Natural Leaders to establish a
sanitation centre in SNN PU.
4. Using a local game to involve children to
promote H&S activities in their villages.

Low Lights
1. Budget shortage due to high Inflation in the
country. As a result we were not able to
procure a vehicle approved in the project
proposal.
2. Lack of continuous follow up by government
staff after triggering.
3. Abscense of water supply in schools to
promote effective sanitation and hygiene
activities.

Actions taken to Address challenges
1. The budget shortage discussed with the donor
and there was a field visit to the project site by
the donor. Additional budget requested.
2. Continuous contact with government staff and
organization of review meetings and
preparation of joint action plans.
3. Integrating WASH activities.

Lessons Learned
1. CLTS needs continuous close follow up and
monitoring after triggering.
2. Needs budget and logistical support for the follow up
and conducting review meetings etc.
3. Needs permanent staff assigned to CLTS
implementation.
4. Government has to accept the CLTS apprach so that
it gives support in implementation.
