June 4: A third-party reviewer begins alignment study between the Colorado Academic Standards and the Common Core State Standards, and makes recommendations to enhance Colorado Academic Standards. July 8-14: Colorado standards subcommittee members in Reading, Writing and Communicating, and Math meet to discuss the third-party recommendations. July 16-28: A redline subcommittee version of the Colorado Academic Standards is made available for public viewing with an online survey to the public to gauge support for proposed augmentation to the Colorado Academic Standards. Aug 2: State Board of Education considers adoption of the Common Core State Standards. Aug 11: State Board of Education considers amendments to Colorado Academic Standards based on enrichments provided by the Common Core State Standards. *August 2nd/11th timeline is due to Race to the Top application requirements.
