• ROMATSA’s policy of staff training determined the necessity of creating dedicated training centres for Air
Traffic Controllers and Aeronautical Meteorologists
• Preparations for TCAeM started since 1998 when MET experts participated at training for Aviation Trainers courses at EUROCONTROL Institute of Air Navigation

• Since 2004 TCAeM was officially recognized by RCAA as training provider for Aeronautical Meteorology

• Romanian Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA) has established Rules and Regulations regarding licensing of Aeronautical
Meteorology Staff
• Each operational Aeronautical meteorologist must have a certificate and a valid license

• In order to be allowed to work operationally in aeronautical meteorology, the staff has to be licensed by RCAA
• License examinations are held every two years in order to ensure competence
