About the Artists :
V.K.Raman (a.k.a Flute Raman)Studied music with many renowned musicians of diverse backgrounds, enriching the repertoire
of my music. Intensive training with renowned flautist Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. Ramani and advanced performance techniques under the
guidance of several great stalwarts in the field.
Experience with many musical genres including Carnatic Classical, Hindustani, Jazz, Contemporary, Folk and World Music.
Proficiency on the South Indian Bamboo Flute as well as North Indian Bansuri.
Widely acclaimed for the successful Collaboration with Mandolin Shrinivas ( Mandolin ), Pt Vishwamohan Bhatt,( Mohan Vina ) and Kadri

Shashidhar began his music studies with Padmashri Lalgudi Jayaraman at the age of ten and received twelve years of intensive training.
Under the Gurukula-like (traditional Indian school where the pupil lives with the teacher during his training) system of training, he absorbed
the style of the "Lalgudi School," of which he proves to be a worthy pupil. His concert debut was made in Shri Krishna Gana Sabha in Madras,
India. From then on, he has played many solo concerts in India, USA and Canada, accompanied leading artists such as TN Seshagopalan,
Balamurali Krishna, N. Ramani, Ravikiran and others. As an artist of All India Radio, he has played many recitals on the radio. He has
performed at the Smithsonian Institution, National Folk festival and Lowell Folk festivals. He has released a CD-album “Indian Classical
Music- The Other Facet” (released by Kaveri Records).
Vijay Ganesh, young mridangist, learnt this divine art from the age of 6. He had his tutelage under great and illustrious master:Vidwan
Late Sri. Kumbakonam Rajappa Iyer.Vijay Ganesh has over the years established himself as a Mridangam player, and has performed
extensively in music festivals in India, USA and Canada. He is a regular performer at Cleveland Tyagaraja festival. He has accompanied many
eminent Carnatic musicians, vocalists and players of instruments notably Sri Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, Sri TK Govinda Rao, Sri
Maharajapuram Ramachandran, Sri Malladi Suri Babu, A. Kanayakumari, Sri HN Bhaskar, Smt.Mala Chandrasekhar, Smt.Gayatri
Venkatraghavan, Smt Vijayalakshmi Subramanian, Sri Suryaprakash Sri V.K Raman and among others. He has also played with outstanding
musicians of the Hindustani stream. He is an AIR, Chennai graded artist.Vijay Ganesh has captured the hearts of music lovers with his versatile
and masterly performance on the mridangam. He has performed at Kennedy Center, Washington D.C and Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall,
Baltimore, MD.
He has won several awards which includes
1)Best Mridangist award from Music Academy – 1999
2)Best Mridangist award in Gokulashtami festival from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha- 1998
3)Awardees of Government of India Cultural Scholarship for Mridangam from 1995 to 1999.
