 Specialist
High Skills Major (SHSM)
programs are career-focused programs
 SHSM programs may be connected to a
Focus Program or Dual Credit Program
 Defined bundle of credits in Grade 11 and
Grade 12 credits, including 2 cooperative
education credits.
 Certifications and recognized within the
sector.
Dual Credit

Students can earn a college credit and a
secondary school credit
Students gain exposure to college programs
Allows them to make more informed decisions
regarding their post-secondary destination
Tuition, books and transportation costs paid
by the School College Work Initiative.
