What we do well

IAG prior to enrolment - interviews

Enrolment IAG



To liaise with tutors, teachers and managers, to provide a
comprehensive service while students on course
Work with our partnership universities, on activities around mock
interviews and writing a personal statement, this has involved
working with Queen Mary, London , Middlesex University and
Greenwich university.
SAMDA – Student Assisted Medical and Dental Application - a
student led organisation from Barts and London Medical School.

Work in partnership with high profile employers to:
- raise awareness
- aspirations
- understanding of careers
- employability skills
Examples include:
- Law careers day with Royal Bank of Scotland
- CV workshop delivered by Barclays
- Employer led days with Price Waterhouse Coopers and KPMG
- Pilot with Accenture, Global consultancy firm to deliver an
interactive, fun, character building, employability programme
- Olympic opportunities

Challenges





Pre-entry interview students have misconceptions about
entry requirements.
Understanding the importance of the GCSEs for those
on Level 3 courses and entry to higher education and
employment.
Apprenticeships – entry levels, jobs roles, progression
opportunities.
Health and Social Care – understanding of requirements
for Nursing degree courses and university selection.
Student Finance – difficulty with online applications and
income-assessed applications.
