Findings
• 57% of GP Supervisors use non GP health
Professionals in the training of GP Registrars.
• 2/3 GP Supervisors believed this could help in
relation to the strain on supervisors and also
improve quality of training
• However the frequency of this use is minimal
• The quality of instruction given to the non GP
Health Professional to support this training is
minimal
• Resources to support this interaction were seen
to be of benefit.

IMPLEMENTATION

briefed regarding the project aims, and approach,
including their roles.

follow up and coordination by lead GP.

POST IMPLEMENTATION SURVEY
Post implementation evaluation form has been
distributed to GPs and non-GP supervisors.
It will be then compared to the
pre-implementation evaluation results.
Results will assist in evaluating the
interprofessional relationships and develop a
robust model to ensure sustainability of the
program within general practice settings

FEEDBACK- GP Students/ Registrars
Educational sessions with non-GP health professionals demonstrated:

importance of non-GP health professionals in total care of the patient
•
value to the cross sectoral education of medical students
•
enhanced learning regarding subjects specific to each non-GP health
profession
•
improved interprofessional collaboration and information sharing.
